Breathwork

The practice of using intentional, rhythmic breath to tap into the body and release stuck emotion and energy.

There are two forms of breathwork I facilitate;

  • Breathwork for relaxation: These techniques are intended to calm the mind, relax the body and reset the nervous system when we are feeling out of sorts, anxious and unable to find balance.
  • Breathwork for transformation: These techniques are meditative in nature and are intended to be used as a "journey" meaning we will be moving deeper into the body and mind using the breath to unlock and process stagnant emotion and energy that is trapped inside the body encouraging deep healing to take place.

We will use either one or both techniques in combination with other complimentary tools such as talk therapy, journaling, and meditation to create a unique experience for your specific needs.

Yoga

Yoga is a thousands year old philosophy that goes far deeper than stretching. The root word for Yoga is Yug which means to yolk, or connect. The fundamental idea behind practicing yoga is to connect with the many different aspects of yourself.

Yoga teaches us the art of self observation through movement, breath, meditation and sound and can be practiced recreationally or used as a rich healing modality.

I can't stress this enough, yoga is not acrobatics, it is suitable for every age, shape, and size of person when practiced correctly. Please don't be deterred if you can't touch your toes! I am a firm believer in making the practice fit the body, not the other way around.

Whether participating in a group class or a private session, I make sure the movements are easily modifiable for every person that I teach.

My approach to wellness is very unique due to the array of different techniques of practice I am educated in. I use tools from a variety of different sources that allows me to tailor my time with my clients to what they need specifically. There is no one size fits all approach with me, I evaluate what you need based on your unique circumstances.
